Notes:
Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text in Fraktur, with blanks infilled in Roman script, is in the center of the document, within a rectangular frame with a triangular peak at the top. It is flanked in the lower corners by areas of green with a fence. Flowering leafy vines grow upwards from these areas, along the sides of text. At the top of the frame sits a bird, and from the frame’s upper edge and corners protrude additional vines and two flowers. The entire document is enclosed by a decorative border. The fraktur lettering and decoration closely resembles work attributed to Bucks County artist Bernhard Misson (formerly known as the BM artist and Durham Township artist). Although Bernhard Mission worked primarily in Bucks County, a bookplate made for Catarina Dietz of Upper Salford Township, Montgomery County and dated 1812 (FLP B-65) is attributed to him and suggests he also worked in Montgomery County.
