Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored. In the center of the reward is a bird on leafy branches with star-shaped flowers. The owner’s name in German script is on the reverse. This drawing bears similarities to work attributed to Elisabeth Dieterly of Bedminster and Haycock Townships, Bucks County, PA.
Small drawings, often lacking inscriptions and referred to as bookmarks by collectors, were given by schoolmasters to their students as rewards for good behavior and scholastic accomplishments.
