Hand-drawn; hand-colored. In the center of the drawing is a bird on a leafy plant with two flowers. The entire item is framed by a decorative border. A partial drawing with an illegible name, possibly stamped, is on the reverse.
Small drawings, often lacking inscriptions and referred to as bookmarks by collectors, were given by schoolmasters to their students as rewards for good behavior and scholastic accomplishments.
