I am small, my heart is pure.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The item is divided into two unequal parts, with the upper part filling about three quarters of the paper. In it is a leafy plant with several flowers, including a large tulip. The first line of text in German script is at the bottom of this top portion. The remainder of the text, in Fraktur and German script, is in the lower portion of the bookmark. The entire item is framed by a decorative border.
Small drawings, often lacking inscriptions and referred to as bookmarks by collectors, were given by schoolmasters to their students as rewards for good behavior and scholastic accomplishments.
