Translation:

[in top center]
Pick up this apple, and you will find under it an immeasurable purchase.

[lower center]
Because through an apple the sin, death, has come, a little child took upon itself the guilt, has vouched himself. Flee, o man, from sin, so that the little child may not punish you with death.

[along left side]
Life will be reached,

[along right side]
sin will be destroyed.

[next to figure (under apple)]
I am still young and want to be your Savior.

[on the book]
The word was made flesh.

[on tablets]

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The apple in the center of the fraktur can be lifted up to reveal an image of Jesus with the cross, as well as two lines of text in Fraktur. On the left side is a tree with apples. A cross and a bible are at its foot. On the right is a barren tree. A snake, the two tablets with the commandments, and a fallen apple are at its foot. Next to the trees are two lines of text in Fraktur. Additional text is in the upper center within a frame, and below the image. The entire document is framed by a decorative border. For a description and image of the fraktur with the apple in place, see FLP 663.
