Notes:

This undated photograph (estimated, circa 1960) was taken by unnamed member(s) of the Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, at 3819-21 Germantown Avenue.  It shows an interior view of the church's altar and pipe organ. The photographs of this church were donated by the granddaughter of Mrs. Ora Andrews, one of the founding members.

The newly-organized church was founded by 26 lay chapter members, on December 10, 1950.  The building was originally St. Paul's Evangelical Church, built in the mid to late 19th century; but due to changing demographics and declining membership, the building was sold to Taylor Memorial, and moved into on July 20, 1952.  The church was named in memory of the their late pastor, Reverend Lemuel Lafayette Taylor. It is located in the Hunting Park/Nicetown areas of North Philadelphia.
