Elisabeth \ Brechbiel \ Gebohren den 24ten October \ Im Jahr Christi 1810. \ Herr Hilf daß ich dein Testament, \ Zu deiner ehre doch anwend, \ Schreib in mein Hertz dein heilig wort, \ Daß ich find die rechte Pfort \ Zu deiner gnad und seelen freud, \ Schon hier in meiner früh \ Und decke mich mit Seegen zu, \ Biß daß ich komm zu dein \ Geschrieben den 5ten tag Januarius \ 1822.

Translation:

Elisabeth Brechbiel, born the 24th of October in the year of Christ 1810. Lord, help me so that I use your Testament only to your honor. Write into my heart your holy word so that I may find the right gate to your grace and soul’s joy, already here in my youth. And cover me with blessings until I come to you. Written the 5th day of January 1822.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-written. The text in Fraktur extends across the entire document. The initials of the name are decorated with calligraphic spirals and flowers. In the upper right and lower corners are additional flowers. The bookplate is framed by a decorative border. This bookplate is in Das Neue Testament (Germantaun: M.
