Notes:
Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur within in heart is in the lower center of the document. From the heart protrude several flowers, including tulips. The entire item is framed by a decorative border. This bookplate is in the Mennonite hymnal Die kleine geistliche Harfe (Germantaun: Michael Billmeyer, 1820). (PA GER Germantown 1820 K673)
Attributed to the school of George H. Gerhart. A closely-related bookplate made for Abraham Geissinger, also on 1/31/1829, and a drawing for Lydia Meyer dated 2/21/1829 are believed to be by the same anonymous copy artist. See Amsler, p. 299.
