Es wurde mir verehrt \ von meiner Großmutter \ \ Zum andenken, und zum \ gebrauch der Gottseligkeit.\ Im 77. Jahr ihres alters \ Geschrieben den 18ten Tag \ February Ann. 1829.
 


Translation:

This book belongs to me, Maria Burkholder.
It was presented it to me by my grandmother, as a souvenir and for the practice of godliness, in the 77th year of her age. Written on the 18th day of February Ann. 1829.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur extends across the entire document. It is framed by a wide border with birds and flowers at the top and bottom. This bookplate is in Das Neue Testament (Germantaun: M. Billmeyer, 1822).   (PA GER Germantown 1822 B471)
