Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Roman script is within a heart in the center of the document. Above and below the heart are flowers, including tulips. The item is framed by a wide border that is filled with flowers, and garlands of flowers. This bookplate is in Introduction to the English Reader (Philadelphia, Pa.: Edwin Scott, 1826).  (CB 1826 M964i) 

Attributed to Johannes S. Hoffman, who made fraktur for families in Berks, Northampton, and Lebanon Counties, PA and is also thought to have later moved to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
