Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. This bookplate covers two facing pages. In the lower center of the left page is the text in Fraktur and German script. It is flanked by flowers. Above the text are a bird and several flowers, and below it is an undulating, leafy vine with a flower. In the center of the right page is an angel with a flower and a trumpet. Above it is a crown. Below it is an arched border, and in the lower corners are two flowers. Both pages are framed by decorative borders. This bookplate is in Das Neue Testament (Germantaun: Michael Billmeyer, 1808).   (PA GER Germantown 1808 B471)

The left-hand bookplate closely resembles one attributed to David Kulp and made for Anna Landes in 1803 (see FLP B-1022).  Kulp, or someone who was familiar with his work, may have made this bookplate as well.
