Title: Old Gas Station
Media Type:
Photographic Negatives
Source: Print and Picture Collection
Notes:
This is a ca. 1935 image, taken by amateur Philadelphia photographer Claude Alexander, showing two men with a truck at a service station. The gas station sells five different brands of gasoline: Gulf, Texaco, Tydol Triple X, Atlantic White Flash, and Eveready, as can be seen by its prominent pumps and signage. Since the license plate on the truck indicates the year 1935, that would be the earliest this photograph was taken. For additional views of this business, see items #pdcal00004 and #pdcal00021.
