This is a ca. 1935 image, taken by amateur Philadelphia photographer Claude Alexander, showing the Philadelphia skyline, viewed across Logan Circle, on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. In the center foreground is the Swann Memorial Fountain. Just above it in the distance is Philadelphia City Hall. On the extreme left is a partial view of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. To the right of City Hall is the PSFS bank building, which was given National Historic Landmark status in 1976; its iconic letters are 27 feet high.
