From a collection of Flemish engavings (some of which are signed by Adriaen Collaert) depicting musical events from the Bible. A paraphrased Biblical quotation in Latin hexameters in at the foot of each engraving. The musical instruments represented are mostly those used in the 16th century. The collection was originally published by Philip Galle around 1600.
