Pickets quelled by tear gas and fire hoses Burbank, California. Violence flared in the 7-month-old movie strike at Warner Brothers studio in Burbank with fire hoses, tear gas bombs and bottles thrown in the fray. Here is shown three overturned cars who attempted to pass through the picket line. Several persons were injured in the battle and nine were arrested. Two hundred police and deputy sheriffs were called. October, 5th, 1945.
