Ari Fleischer was the press secretary for President George W. Bush from January 2001 to July 2003, the culmination of a 21-year career in government and politics. Fleisher previously served as the Senior Communications Advisor and Spokesman for the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign. He announced his resignation in May 2003 and was later replaced by Scott McClellan. He is currently principal of Fleischer Communications in Washington, DC.
