W.E.B. Du Bois viewed sociology as a human science. In his effort to understand and explain the human capacity to transform society he employed art in its many forms including music, painting, novels and poetry. This talk, from DuBois Scholar Anthony Monteiro, will explore how art informs DuBoisian sociology with the aim of freeing Black folks and democratizing American society.

Monteiro is the founder of the Saturday Free School for Philosophy and Black Liberation
