February 2016 Early Literacy Calendar

By Peter SM RSS Tue, February 2, 2016

It feels like it was just Groundhog Day this exact same time last year! ; P  As of this morning, warm weather lies ahead for us all as Punxsutawney Phil prognosticated an early Spring.

No matter what February weather may bring, you can count on Free Library of Philadelphia's Early Literacy Calendar for fun suggestions and activities that parents, family, and caregivers can engage in with their children to help nurture and develop the necessary skills of Reading, Writing, Talking, Singing, and Playing.

February is chock full of fun dates and holidays including Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, Presidents' Day, and a whole extra day since 2016 is a Leap Year!

Also throughout February, we'll be celebrating Black History Month with events, blog posts, booklists, and more!
