Join Us For The Mysterious Travelers All-Stars Winter Concert!

The Mysterious Travelers are back, and something special is brewing!

For the past four years, the Free Library has teamed up with the Philadelphia Jazz Project for a concert series showcasing the work of young and not-so-young Philadelphia jazz artists, and now, the gang is getting back to together for an all-star performance featuring a collection of stellar artists who have performed along the way!

On Monday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Montgomery Auditorium at Parkway Central Library, the concert – free and open to the public – will revisit some of the cutting-edge and challenging music performed last summer as part of the One Book Report concert, as well as some original music by members of the band, written specifically for their own Mysterious Travelers concerts. A Greatest Hits, if you will!

Throughout the four-year run of the series, musicians have explored important questions with their work, including what would happen if librarians commissioned composers to write music inspired by resources from Parkway Central’s subject departments.

For more information on the All-Star concert, visit our friends at the Philadelphia Jazz Project, and for more on the history of the series, peruse our past posts! See you there!

This performance is made possible by gifts from Lisa F. Becker and Joseph M. Becker.
