One Book Author Lopez Visits Local Branch

Now that the seventh season of One Book, One Philadelphia is underway, I want to hear from you! Were you one of the 700+ people who attended the kick-off at Parkway Central for the kick off on Wednesday, January 21? Montgomery Auditorium was packed, as was the Main Lobby for the telecast of Steve Lopez’s remarks.

The next day, Lopez stopped by Lillian Marrero Branch to chat with approximately 150 teens from area high schools. The students presented Lopez with a handmade sign welcoming him to the Library (check it out below!), and, in turn, Lopez signed copies of The Soloist, participated in a question-and-answer session, and even spoke a little Spanish! Area students were all ears when Lopez discussed how to be a good writer and shared his personal tips.

I have read several of his books. I really like his style of writing. It was great that he came out a spoke with the kids. Sorry I missed it. Best Wishes,
