Talking About Tomatoes! An Online Event for Children & Caregivers
Virtual
This event is designed for school-aged children and intergenerational groups - please join us!
Tomatoes are a savory fruit! They are great to eat in the summer and early fall when they are in season - and throughout the year - canned, dried, or fresh.
We will gather remotely to share some of our favorite recipes, some that require cooking and some that do not! Guests are encouraged to join as viewers, or to cook along with us for some or all of what we will be making!
This event is part of our Books & Cooks series, a collaborative project between the Parkway Central Children's Department and the Culinary Literacy Center's Nourishing Literacy team. In addition to cooking with tomatoes, we will have some stories and activities around the theme of tomatoes and cooking!
Check the Culinary Literacy Center's Facebook page @FreeLibraryCook a few days before the event for an ingredient list and a description of pre-event prep work.
