Mastering the Building Blocks of Family History
Social Science and History Department at Parkway Central Library
Professional Genealogists from the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania will share the best tips for starting family history research:
Mastering the Methods Series: Basic Starters
While beginning family historians often chomp at the bit to go full force into online records, let’s take a breath and talk about some basic methods that will make sure you don’t end up in blind alleys, including working backward in time; looking at the home sources; doing oral history; how to use charts; and using societies and repositories.
Mastering the Eras Series: 1900-1950
Learn how to enhance your genealogy research by accessing a full range of records for ancestors who lived during the first half of the 20th century, including the census, World War II draft records, city directories, WPA records, vital records, and newspapers, and other sources.
Registration is capped at 25 tickets for this in-person event. Register to attend in-person via Eventbrite.
