Celebration begins at 3:00pm; show starts at 4:00pm!

The Bearded Ladies Beardmobile gets into her finest book-lover drag for a family-friendly show about libraries and the people who make them so wonderful. CHECK IT OUT! celebrates Philly's libraries as places of freedom for all families with special love to families who are queer, questioning, and learning who they are. Filled with songs, books (banned and not), drag, glitter, joy, and community, CHECK IT OUT! is hosted by former librarian and current rock star Sam Rise and features hip-hop collective ILL DOOTS.

For bookworms aged 5-10 of all orientations, genders, and genres.  This hour-long outdoor performance will be outside Fishtown Community Library (1217 East Montgomery Avenue) on Thursday, May 30th at 4pm. Come early at 3pm for face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, and more!

In unfavorable weather the performance will shift to the hockey rink at Fishtown Recreation Center, across the street from the library.
