Learn about Fish and Make Fish Prints
Whitman Library
Join “Our Fishing Log” for a family-friendly workshop about fish, fishing, and seafood in the greater Philadelphia region! We’ll be making fish prints with rubber molds, and discussing ecologies, angling possibilities, and food options for fish that can be found in local and nearby waters. Fish cakes made with local fish (plus vegan & gluten-free fish cakes) will be served!
This workshop is taught by Feini Yin from Our Fishing Log. Feini Yin is a journalist, community organizer, and creator of Our Fishing Log, a multimedia storytelling project about Philly’s local fish, people who love fish, and the ways fish connect us to the world, each other, and ourselves. They work with the North American Marine Alliance, a fishermen-led seafood justice organization, as well as Fishadelphia, a community supported fishery that connects Philadelphia’s diverse communities with fresh and sustainable seafood from the Jersey Shore.
This program is FREE! No registration required. For all ages.
Allergen alert: Food with fish will be served.
