Yay or Nay: Does Voting Matter? (WHYY Bridging Blocks)
Oak Lane Library
Voting is a “civic duty”. Our right to vote empowers us to make an impact in our communities. Yet voter turnout has long been a challenge. During the 2022 midterms, 43% of eligible city voters cast a ballot. At the recent Philly mayoral race, only 32% of eligible voters showed up at the polls. Join WHYY and the Free Library of Philadelphia to discuss ways to motivate Philadelphians young and old to step into the voting booth and exercise their democratic rights this November.
The Bridging Blocks project is aimed at bringing together culturally and politically diverse households for civil dialogue and understanding. This program will be hosted and moderated by Eric Marsh Sr., WHYY News Manager of Community & Engagement and Anthony Cuffie, WHYY News Senior Manager of Community & Engagement.
