According to the Wall Street Journal, “Rick Moody is one of the most prodigiously talented writers in America.” He is the author of nine books, including The Diviners and The Ice Storm, which was adapted into a critically acclaimed film starring Sigourney Weaver. Among his many honors, he has won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Set in 2025, Moody’s new comic novel, The Four Fingers of Death revels in cheesy science fiction tropes and conventions in the form of a novelization of a remake of a mock classic drive-in movie. What? You’ll have to come and find out….
Former writer for The Simpsons and MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Daria, Larry Doyle is “wickedly funny,” according to the New York Times Book Review. His debut novel, I Love You Beth Cooper, was recently adapted into a feature film, and his writing frequently appears in the New Yorker. Doyle’s new novel, Go, Mutants!, follows the offspring of some of Hollywood’s most iconic B-movie aliens, monsters, and other creatures—like the Blob—as they navigate the horrific world of the all-American high school.
