Summer Concert Series: Hidden Treasure Jazz Duo
Philadelphia City Institute
Hidden Treasure is a band based out of the Philadelphia Suburbs for the last 13 years that provides a compelling blend of high quality Jazz in various styles ranging from Smooth Jazz, Traditional, Fusion, R&B, and Latin Jazz. They have performed at numerous venues, including the Berks County Jazz Fest, Phoenixville Summer Music Series, West Oak Lane Jazz Fest, and Philly’s premier Jazz spot, the former Zanzibar Blue. What is most intriguing about their group is the energetic and dynamic solos they provide. Popular Smooth Jazz recording artist Gerald Veasley commended them on their sound and their ability to move the crowd, commenting that the crowd “loved us!” Hidden Treasure has published two CDs, “Calm Thunder” and “Treasure Huntin’.” Both CDs demonstrate their ability to craft fresh, original tunes that push the boundaries of Smooth and Jazz fusion. They present a unique and dynamic sound that grabs hold of the listener and never lets go. Tenor James Corum, Jr. will be playing the Soprano Sax, and Brian Hayman will perform vocals and bass guitar.
