Just Food - Community Chef Training
Parkway Central Library
Presented by the Free Library of Philadelphia and Just Food
Do you love food and want to engage in participatory learning through cooking?
Do you wish your community had more opportunities to share knowledge of food and cooking?
Do you want your neighborhood to have cooking classes that build literacy skills?
This spring the Free Library of Philadelphia and Just Food will offer a four-day training geared towards
community members and library users interested in literacy, food, and cooking. Learn culinary literacy best
practices as a dynamic approach for advancing community food education in Philadelphia. Trainings will be
held in the Free Library's Culinary Literacy Center, a commercial-grade kitchen where we advance literacy,
guide learning, and inspire curiosity through fun and educational cooking classes. Culinary literacy is for
everyone-advancing multiple literacies to people of all ages and abilities.
