A Taste of Syria: Tiramisu and Kudrit Kader with Abir Alarnab
Culinary Literacy Center at Parkway Central Library
This family-friendly class is the third in our Taste of Syria series, a collaboration between the Free Library's Culinary Literacy Center and Swarthmore College's Friends, Peace, and Sanctuary. Abir Alarnab, a multi-talented cook originally from Syria, will lead us in a sweets-filled class. We will learn how to make tiramisu and kudrit kader, a decadent caramel cream cake that translates from Arabic to mean "made by a miracle." We will also discuss how celebration foods are enjoyed in Syria and in the Syrian diaspora, and the ways that these recipes are influenced by ingredients available globally. Enjoy generous tastings and take home recipes to try on your own!
Preregistration is required via Eventbrite; tickets are $7 per person.
