Several terms may have been used to describe one topic. For example: military, militia, and army may all retrieve records about the military. Abbreviations used during the time period 1898-1912 were retained. You will obtain more records if you search using more than one keyword or abbreviation. For example: "Penna," "Penn," and "PA" may all retrieve records about Pennsylvania. Similarly, a search using "Wil," "Willi" and "Williams" will all retrieve Williamsburg.
