This May 5, 1971, image shows an aerial view of an anti-war rally against the Vietnam War, held at Independance Square.  This rally coincided with the much larger May Day protests in Washington, DC, held from May 3-5.  Although the Independence Square protest was much smaller than the DC rallies, Philadelphia was one of several centers nationwide to provide nonviolent training for participants in Washington.
