The carta executoria was a document issued in the name of the king to confirm a citizen’s noble status. This carta, granted by Charles III, King of Spain (r. 1759-88), gave the title of Marquis de Algorfa to Don Francisco Ruiz Davalos, a Colonel of the Cavalry of Algarbe. It was signed at Aranjuez on May 6, 1762 with the stamp of the king and by several witnesses.
