"This scene is in the section of Philadelphia often referred to as the 'Old City,' which is roughly the area north from Society Hill to Vine Street, and west from Front to about 7th. The archway at the extreme right opens into an alley, or 'easement,' between houses."--OPEP, p. 103.

blurred image of a man in front. Streetcar tracks along 5th.
