Title: Vitae XII Caesarium (Lives of the Twelve Caesars)
Script: Humanist
Language: Latin
Folio Number: f. 12v
Source: Rare Book Department
Notes: Text page
Notes: This page contains text from the Life of Julius Caesar, from Suetonius's Lives of the Twelve Caesars, written in the second century AD. Writings by and about Romans became especially popular in the Renaissance with the Italian humanists who sought to revive Classical learning and literature.

This codex contains only ten pages of the original manuscript and, in its present form, breaks off here, in the middle of the chapter. A table of contents at the beginning of the manuscript reveals that it originally comprised all twelve chapters of Suetonius's work and more than 131 leaves.
