Thirty First December 1848.
My Dear "Tone".
I send you the works of an obscure Writer, of our acquaintance, with all cordial wishes for your happiness through many succeeding years.
By some ingenious mistake in the region of Whitefriars, I find that the set does not comprize the Christmas Books. I will instruct the Binder to remedy this mistake, and send them straight to you, when ready in their new coats.
Ever Affecy. Yours
Charles Dickens
Frank Stone Esquire.
