Twelfth January 1854
Friday.
My Dear Mark.
as you know the man, will you be kind enough to pay this bill for me? I have added a Guinea to it, for Mr. Ireland himself. It is not clear to me but that the horse’s head, or the umbrella, or both, were sent back to the adelphi. Being charged as mine will you ask the question, and, in case they were sent back, direct them to be restored?
The baked Irish Stew—time next Monday, is 5. Perhaps we shall meet in the meanwhile. If you happen to be disengaged this evening, I am ready for anything dramatic
Ever affectionately
