Dear Mark
If I were not unfortunately engaged, I should have had the greatest pleasure in dining with Madame Celeste today. For you know what a high opinion I always have of her good sense and thorough knowledge of her art. But the short notice floors me—though I have half a mind to back out of my previous “bespeak”.
