          Twenty First april, 1854
                            Saturday

Dear Mark
You needn't answer this note until we meet tomorrow.
are you enganged on Sunday? If yes, there an end. If no, will you come down to Folkstone? I want to meet Georgina and anne there, who will be returning from Boulogne. There is a train at halfpast 10 in the morning. We could have several hours there, and so return with them as to be in town again at 1/4 before 12 at night.
                 Ever affectionately
