The letter refers to a visit to Watt's Charity, Rochester_CD's setting for the "The Seven Poor Travellers", the Extra Christmas No. of Household Words for 1854. Dickens and and Lemon signed the Vistor's Book on 11 May. He also described it in "one Man in a Dockyard" (with Horne), Household Words 6 Sept 51. An illustration of the house exists in The Uncollected Writings of CD, ed. Harry Stone, 11, 525.
