     Friday Second March 1855
Dear Mark.
      I have pledged myself in a dread and solemn manner to go to the Standard tomorrow night, to see—she called it “recognize” —Miss Glyn, who has forwarded Box for that purpose. Can you go? I shall have to be in the City first, and we might meet at any dirty dining-house at 1/2 past 5.
                       A word in answer.

The Standard Theatre described as a handsome building capable of holding 5000 and having ten rates of admission from 3d to 2s. 6d. (Athenaeum, 10 Mar). 
"Forwarded box" is for the opening night performance.
Dickens went alone to the dinner.
