OFFICE OF ALL THE YEAR ROUND,
Wednesday Twenty Seventh March 1861.
My Dear Sir
I am exceedingly sorry that I cannot have the pleasure of accepting the enclosed MS for insertion in these pages. It is very intelligent and pleasant--if you will excuse my making the remark--but does not possess any little speciality to render it, as a travelling experience, available for this Journal. There are already in type here, many articles of a similar kind, which I am not able to find room for, by reason of their wanting some distinctive feature. And I am really afraid of the responsibility of increasing their number.
With many thanks, pray believe me
My Dear Sir
Faithfully Yours
Charles Dickens
