Bull Hotel, Leicester.
  Friday Twenty Fifth [January] 1867
My Dear Mr. Henry James.
I am reading in the country with short intervals of flits to town, and have only two days within the limits you so kindly give me, on which I could possibly dine in London. Those are, Tuesday the 5th and Wednesday the 6th of February. I shall be delighted, on either of those days, to give George Russell the Happy Dispatch in a better fashion than the Japanese, with many thanks to you for affording me the opportunity.
Your letter reached me here today, and of course I answer it by the next post. A note from you addressed to me at All the Year Round Office 26 Wellington Street W.C. will be sure to find me with the least possible delay.
  Believe me always
  Faithfully Yours
  Charles Dickens
Henry James Esquire
