GAD'S HILL PLACE
HIGHAM BY ROCHESTER, KENT
Tuesday Twenty Fifth September
1866
My Dear Marcus
Will you kindly undertake a little commission for me, and so enable me to render an acceptable attention to a contributor to whom I cannot offer money.
Will you select me 6 or even 8 good photographs of those admirable French pictures we spoke of (of course only one of each subject, and comprising all the best subjects--which I think make up about either of those Nos.), and will you instruct your frame-maker to frame them separately for hanging, each in a light gilt moulding with a plate-glass, and then to send the whole to me at the office in a case, with his account. I had best, I suppose, pay you for the photographs, and him for the framing.
In Christmas Agonies
Believe me
Affectionately Yours
Charles Dickens
