My Dearest Georgy
I am a little disappointed not to hear more decidedly good news of Mamie: but I hope that Monday morning’s post will put all to rights.
I enclose you a Key. The Key of the top left-hand drawer in my large writing table. I think if you will open that drawer full out, you will see lying at the back of it, a banker’s pass-book labeled “Charles Dickens Esqr.” —fastened with an elastic band and clasp—and having a line on the label in my writing to the effect: “Important Memorandum within”. I want that book when you come up, and also a blue surtout with black silk facings hanging in the side of the Wardrobe. I don’t think it is worth while having any thing else up. If I should want anything more, I can send down.
Best Love to Mamie
Ever Your most affectionate
