Taking off from Washington Airport in an airliner, two Civil War veterans flew over the Gettysburg Battlefields where poppies were dropped from the plane.

Shown here as the ship passed over the famous battlefields are Private Willaim H. Jackson, age 95 (left), wh fought with the Union Army, and Major Robert E. Wilson who was in the ranks of the Confederates. Wilson is 92 years old.
