This leaf was taken from a copy of Saint Gregory the Great's commentary on the Book of Job. The green and red capitals in the center of the page mark the transition from Job 21 to Job 22. The large “Q” is another example of the ornate Romanesque style, with a dragon forming the letter’s tail.
Notes: Initial Q
Notes: This leaf was taken from a Gregory the Great's commentary on the book of Job. The Letter Q, which begins the 22nd book, is a typical example of a fanciful Romanesque initial, in which a dragon wraps around the circle of the letter Q in order to form the cross stoke.
