Item No: mca0650002
Title: Constitutiones clementinae (Clementine Constitutions)
Language:
Latin
Folio Number: back cover
Source: Rare Book Department
Notes: Binding
Notes: This blind-stamped decoration on the front and back cover of this binding displays the crowned fleur-de-lis of Louis XII of France and the crowned ermine of his wife, Anne of Brittany. The emblems help to date the binding to the period after their marriage (1499) until her death (1514). The choice of decoration also suggests that the manuscript may have been part of the royal library in the early sixteenth century.
