Binding: Full leather; blind-tooled; tulip stamped border; gold nameplate on spine

Tête-bêche format: Similar to a tête-bêche, Mr. Borneman and Mr. Fegley entered 84 pages for human & horse remedies in the front of the manuscript; then left 74 pages blank; flipped and recorded starting from the back of the MS an additional 71 pages of county and tax records, as well as additional remedies for humans & animals, so that when one text runs head-to-tail, the other runs tail-to-head. Like a tête-bêche, the two texts are bound together in a single spine, but unlike a tête-bêche, there is a back cover, and there are no double front covers.

N.B. Between most pages is a purple blotter page; an additional eight-page note pad with human remedies.
