Notes: This image shows the reverse of a leaf with a decorated initial from a missal. The text is a portion of the eighth prophecy of the twelve that were read during the Easter Vigil on the night of Holy Saturday. Each prophecy was taken from the Old Testament and foretold a truth of Christian doctrine. The eighth prophecy, from Isaiah 4:1-6, foretells the coming of Christ.
