Notes: This initial begins the first response of the first nocturn of Matins for the feast of Corpus Christi, "Immolabit haedum multitudo filiorum Israel ad vesperam Paschae..." (With the whole assembly of Israel present, the young goat shall be slaughtered on the eve of the Passover). This feast is celebrated in the Catholic Church on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday to commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist.
